Eric Marlon Bishop (December 13, 1967) is an American producer, presenter, comedian, singer, and actor. He is professionally known as Jamie Foxx. Foxx was born in Terrell, Texas. When he was just five years old, Foxx began playing the piano. He attended Terrell High School and was good at studies as well as played football and basketball during his school. He has sung for the band called Leather and Lace. After graduating high school, he went to the United States International University on scholarship. Foxx studied musical and performing arts composition there.
In 1989, Foxx participated in the open mic night at the comedy club. He noticed those female comedians were called first to perform on the stage often so h,e decided to change his name to Jamie Foxx. In 1991, Foxx also joined the cast of In Living Color. From the year 1996-2001, Foxx starred in his sitcom named “The Jamie Foxx Show.”
Foxx’s debut film was Toys that was released in December 1992. He was cast as a hard-partying quarterback in his first dramatic role that he got in the 1999 film of Oliver Stone; Any Given Sunday. He has also been featured on the song of the rapper Twista entitled “Slow Jamz” along with Kanye West. The song reached number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. It also reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart.
Foxx released a few albums throughout his singing career, including Peep This (1994), Unpredictable (2005), Intuition (2008), Best Night of my Life (2010), and Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses (2015). A few of his notable tours include The Unpredictable Tour (2006) and The Blame It Tour (2009).
