Jack Russell (December 5, 1960) is an American rock vocalist from Montebello, California. He grew up with major influences such as Steven Tyler and Robert Plant. During high school, Russell became a vocalist for a number of bands. His music can be defined as hard rock, heavy metal, and glam metal. Russell is also the founding member of the American hard rock band known as Great White.
Russell met Mark Kendall at a concert and began forming a band by the name Dante Fox. The name of the group was later changed to Great White. From 1981-1996, Russell was with Great White but then took off for three years to release a solo album. The album was entitled Shelter Me. He rejoined the band in 1999, but in 2001, the group broke up, and Russell began touring solo. The band's name was later changed to Jack Russell's Great White.
Russell released his second solo album entitled For You in 2002. In 2003, Jack Russell's Great White performed at The Station nightclub fire. Later, in 2006, the classic lineup of the Great White rejoined, and Russell started to tour with the group again. However, in 2009, he left the band once more due to a herniated disc and cracked vertebrae.
Russell married Heather Ann Kramer on March 25, 2011. After a full recovery from his injury, Russell started touring again as "Jack Russell's Great White" in December 2011. He also guest-starred on VH1 Classics "That Metal Show" in 2012.
