Hammerfall Information
HammerFall is a Swedish based heavy metal band. The band is from Gothenburg, Sweden. It was formed in 1993 by the guitarist Oscar Dronjak of ex-Ceremonial Oath. The band follows heavy metal and power metal genres.
The current members of the band are Oscar Dronjak (Guitar, backing vocals), Joacim Cans (lead vocals), Fredrick Larsson (bass), Pontus Norgren (guitar, backing vocals), and David Wallin (drums).
Oscar Dronjak formed HammerFall after quitting Ceremonial Oath. He invited Jesper Stromblad of In Flames and Ceremonial Oath and asked him to join as a drummer. Stromblad had already composed a song “Steel Meets Steel” back then, and the song later got included in the debut album of HammerFall.
In the early era of HammerFall, the band usually played covers and had very few songs of their own. "The Glory of Brave" was the very first album by the HammerFall that reached no. 38 on the German Music Chart. The band extensively toured with bands like Jag Panzer, Lake of Tears, Raven, and a few more for their first album.
