Hamiltones Information
All three members of The Hamiltones, J. Vito, Tony Lelo, and 2E—are from North Carolina. The band first came together to provide backing vocals for Anthony Hamilton, a Grammy-winning soul singer.
They went viral when clips of them performing cover songs in a quartet style were posted online. Since then, members of The Hamiltones (Anthony Hamilton, PJ Morton, Johnathan McReynolds, and Tori Kelly) have appeared on The Breakfast Club, The Steve Harvey Morning Show, performed to a sold-out Apollo and been nominated for four Grammys.
However, to The Hamiltones, the music is more important than their accolades. Following much anticipation, the group finally released their debut single, "Watch The Ton3s," which was met with critical acclaim from outlets including Sway in the Morning and The Breakfast Club. On February 14, 2020, an EP titled "Watch The Ton3s - The B Side" was released as a follow-up to the first EP.
The Hamiltones incorporated more of a live element into their next effort. They enlisted the aid of seasoned producers like Jairus Mozee (Raphael Saadiq), Charlie Bereal (Fantasia), and Kelvin Wooten. Some of the records were even manufactured by the band themselves! With its unique blend of modern production values and retro influences, the band coined "Young Vintage" to describe its sound.
