Fozzy Information
Fozzy is a heavy metal band founded in 1999 by lead singer Chris Jericho and guitarist Rich Ward. The group originated from Atlanta, Georgia, but was previously known as Fozzy Osbourne. The current lineup of the band includes Chris Jericho – lead vocals; Rich Ward – lead guitar, keyboards, programming, backing vocals; Frank "Bud" Fontsere – drums, backing vocals; Billy Grey – rhythm guitar, backing vocals; and Randy Drake – bass, backing vocals.
The first show played by Fozzy was held at the club "The Hangar," which was located in the downtown square of Marietta. The band signed with a record company to move to Japan to be massive rock stars, but the company went out of business, leaving the band's demos to be picked up and recorded by other groups.
Soon, Fozzy released its first album, a self-titled one, featuring mostly bands such as Twisted Sister, Iron Maiden, Dio, Krokus, and Mötley Crüe and Judas Priest. Happenstance was the second album by the band that came out in 2002. The group went on a Happenstance tour that ended in 2003. They followed this up with a third album entitled All That Remains in 2005. The band included guest appearances by musicians Bone Crusher, Mark Tremonti (Creed, Alter Bridge), Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne, etc.), Marty Friedman (Megadeth) and many more.
Some of the other notable albums by the band are Chasing the Grail (2010), Sin and Bones (2012), and Do You Wanna Start a War (2014). Fozzy won the Loudwire Music Award 2012 and was the winner of the Cage Match Hall of Fame in 2012.
