Fobia Information
Formed in the year of 1987, this rock band that is based in Mexico is known for playing alternative rock music. The group was first created by Lozanne, who is a singer-songwriter, turned Mexican model and designer, and Huidobro, who happens to be the brother of Micky Huidobro, who is part of the Mexican rap-rock band Molotov. In the late 1980s, this band was among the few original music groups to rise from rock en español. The band was named based on the fears, insecurities, and obsessions that the band members had to deal with in their personal lives.
Their personal feeling and emotions are what they transferred into their songs and therefore creating beautiful melodies and music. Among their first songs are “La iguana,” “El Microbito,” “El Crucifijo,” etc. The band at the beginning of their career used to score gigs in either house parties or small local bars, later gaining success with their self-titled debut album Fobia. The band was inactive during the period between 1997 and 2004, after which they reunited and released an album that was a compilation of their greatest hits named Wow 87*04.
To promote their record, they had toured Latin America as well as the US. After this, they returned to Mexico City, where they were signed to play in a series of the shows, including an opening slot that they scored in the rolling stones.
