Flow Tribe Information
Flow Tribe is a funk rock band founded in 2004 and based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The group consists of 6 members: K.C. O'Rorke – vocals, trumpet; Russell Olschner – drums; John-Michael Early – harmonica, vocals, keyboard, and washboard; Chad Penot – bass, vocals; Bryan Santos – guitar; and Mario Palmisano – guitar. All of the six members are native to New Orleans. Flow Tribe was featured on MTV's The Real World: New Orleans, episode 11, which aired on September 8, 2010.
Flow Tribe was created as a project between a few high school friends. This musical project was shelved after high school graduation when the boys parted their ways. After two years, the group reunited in New Orleans to rebuild the group due to Hurricane Katrina. The group focused its efforts on hitting the road, playing shows for music fans, and displaced Katrina survivors scattered throughout the Southeast.
Soon the band began to enjoy the appreciation and love that Americans have for New Orleans' culture. Flow Tribe is a festival favorite playing The Voodoo Music Experience, the massive Main Stage many times. The group has also played the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival for five straight years and was honored to perform with Sahar Dika, a member of The Real World: New Orleans cast, at Tipitina's concert.
