Euge Groove Information
Steven Eugene Grove (November 27, 1962) is an American smooth jazz saxophonist, who is better known by his stage name Euge Groove. He is from Hagerstown, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Miami School of Music in 1984. Until 2000, Grove did not record a solo album as he played in the Tower of Power band to replace Richard Elliot. Grove carried out several sessions with various pop acts, such as the Miami girl group Exposé. He owns a sax solo on the number one hit by Exposé entitled “Seasons Change,” and on their 1993 hit “I’ll Never Get Over You (Getting Over Me).”
The name Euge Groove was adopted by Grove after it was coined by his European fans who saw him perform. Later, it was indicated by Grove that his mother-in-law conceptualized the idea of having this stage name. In all, Grove has released eight studio albums and eleven promo singles. His self-titled debut album was released on May 2, 2000, via Warner Bros. It was followed by Play Date on July 2, 2002; Livin’ Large March 9, 2004; Just Feels Right August 30, 2005; Born 2 Groove June 19, 2007; and House of Groove on September 25, 2012.
Some of the best-known solo hits by Grove include “Slam Dunk,” “Rewind,” “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight,” “Sneak a Peek,” “Livin’ Large,” and “XXL.” “Get ‘Em Going,” “S7ven Large”, and Chillaxin.”
