ELHAE Information
Jamaal Jones (August 24, 1990), better known by his stage name ELHAE is an American singer and songwriter. He was born in Minot, North Dakota, but his father was in the military, so he moved about a lot as a kid. Elhae spent his summers in Savannah, GA, while his family eventually relocated to Warner Robins, GA. He was nominated for two of his rap albums at the Dove Awards in 2015, with Andy Mineo's "Uncomfortable" and Tedashii's "This Time Around" sharing the award for Rap / Hip Hop Album of the Year.
Elhae is part of a new wave of artists blurring the lines between alternative and commercial R&B with laid-back but highly sympathetic vocals over sparse arrangements and slow tempos. After steadily rising since the release of his first EP, Aura (2015), he debuted on a major label and released his first album, All Have Fallen (2016), which charted in the top half of Billboard's R&B/hip-hop chart. With the full-length Aura III, he has broadened his horizons as a Motown signee (2021).
Elhae contributed to Andy Mineo's Top Ten Billboard 200 LP Uncomfortable and Tedashii's This Time Around EP; both were nominated for a Dove Award for Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year. Elhae moved from Atlantic to Motown to record Aura III after his next major project, the 2019 full-length Trouble in Paradise. On the 2021 release, Rick Ross, Masego, and Xavier Omär all made appearances.
