Djavan Information
His full name knows Djavan as Djavan Caetano Viana (January 27, 1949). He is a Brazilian singer/songwriter, and his music is described as a combination of traditional Brazilian rhythms with popular music that is straight from Europe, America, and Africa. He is the founder of the group named Luz, Som, Dimensão (LSD – "Light, Sound, Dimension"); that played Beatles' singles.
Djavan moved to Rio de Janeiro from Maceió (capital of Alagoas, Northeastern Brazil) in the year 1973 and began singing in local nightclubs. He performed at many festivals and later gained significant attention. He recorded the album named A Voz, o Violão e a Arte de Djavan (1976). "Flor de Lis" was a memorable hit by him, which was included in this album. Some of his albums that exposed his musical influence towards African music are Açaí", "Sina," and "Samurai.”

He also contributed to AIDS benefit compilation album Onda Sonora: Red Hot + Lisbon via "Dukeles" (1998). One of his hit single named "Acelerou" became the next Brazilian Song of the Year at the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards.
Djavan was nominated for Grammy Awards 2016 for the categories of Album of the Year, Best Portuguese Language Song, Record of the Year, and Best Singer-Songwriter Album.
