Dethklok Information
Dethklok is a fictitious melodic death metal band in the Adult Swim animated television series Metalocalypse. It is recognized for its sarcastic or parodic lyrics. A true band formation was formed to perform the band's music at live events. Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha came up with the idea for both bands. Brendon Small is responsible for the music that can be heard on Metalocalypse; however, extra musicians are required for live events and CDs.
On September 25, 2007, The Dethalbum, the first official album by Dethklok, was made available to the public. On the list of the Top 200 albums published by Billboard magazine, the album debuted at position number 21. On September 29, 2009, the band released their second studio album, Dethalbum II. They also went on tour with Mastodon, High on Fire, and Converge.
Dethalbum IV, the band's fourth and first album in over a decade, was published in August of 2023. A soundtrack album for the film Metalocalypse: Army of the Doomstar was also released at the same time. Between August and October 2023, the band embarked on a tour across the country, supported by Jason Richardson and included Babymetal as co-headliners.
