Demilich Information
Demilich is a death metal band from Finland, comprised of vocalist/guitarist Antti Boman, guitarist Aki Hytonen, bassist Ville Koistinen, and drummer Mikko Virnes. The group was founded in the early 1990s. Complex death metal riffs and particularly deep and guttural screams in the vocal fry register are hallmarks of their 1993 first album, Nespithe.
The album "Even Trying to Scream Your Lungs Out Whilst Vomiting a Mix of Haggis, Outdated Goat's Cheese, and Kebab Won't Do" was Nespithe's spot on Terrorizer's Secret History of Death Metal's "The 40 Albums You Must Hear" list. After rigorous testing by Terrorizer's research team, we can confidently state that no regular human being can match the effect-free vocal lunacy exhibited by Antti Boman on this one-of-a-kind album by these Finns.
Demilich has played several gigs since their previous one on July 22, 2006, which was widely thought to be their final performance. They have been at festivals, including Maryland DeathFest and Jalometalli Metal Music Festival. Sami Jämsén of Studio Perkele painstakingly mixed these original unmastered mixes for this release after the band retrieved the original unmastered 24-bit studio tapes from Nespithe and the finest possible sources for the demo material.
