Death Angel Information
Death Angel is a thrash metal band with the current lineup consisting of Damien Sisson (bass), Will Carroll (drums), Ted Aguilar (backing vocals and rhythm guitar), Mark Osegueda (head vocals), and Rob Cavestany (backing vocals and lead guitar). Four Death Angel albums are available, including nine full-lengths, two demo tapes, a box set, and three live albums.
Only guitarist Rob Cavestany has been with the band from its inception; he and vocalist Mark Osegueda (who joined the band in 1984) are the only two members to appear on every Death Angel album. Opening for bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Exodus, Testament, Overkill, D.R.I., Mercyful Fate, and Possessed, Death Angel is generally cited as a seminal act in the Bay Area thrash metal scene of the '80s.
Among the "big eight" of thrash metal and the "Big Six" of Bay Area thrash metal like Exodus, Testament, Lz Rockit, Forbidden, and Vio-lence, they are frequently cited as a driving force behind the genre's second wave in the 1980s.
