Excellently timed, flexible, and instrumentally outstanding, DDAT is well-known for its exceptional musical output. From little nightclubs to large events such as the Taos Vortex Festival, TED X, and the Ridgecrest Petroglyph Festival, DDAT has played for it. The result of DDAT's unique fusion of jazz, hip-hop, and funk is exciting, high-energy music.
The group's bassist, Michael McCluhan, is a native New Yorker. Inspired by bands like the Grateful Dead, McCluhan has a flexible technique that works well with various instruments. James Pakootas, hailing from Washington State, provides a rousing hip-hop rendition of the band's songs. From Albuquerque, New Mexico, saxophonist Nick Lucero brings his unique style to the stage, drawing inspiration from the likes of John Coltrane. Delbert Anderson, who is exceptionally gifted on trumpet and in most areas of jazz, completes the quartet.
