John Whitfield (May 2, 1992), who is better known by his stage name DC Young Fly, is an American singer, rapper, host, comedian, actor, and internet personality. John Whitefield was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and is best known for the “roasting sessions” he posts on Vine and Instagram. He is also known as a recurring cast member of the MTV, MTV 2, and VH1 show, Wild ‘N Out. DC Young Fly has also been the main host of the TRL revival on MTV between 2017 and 2018. He has starred with Karlous Miller and Chico Bean in the podcast entitled “85 South Show.”
DC Young Fly was able to create such a vast following initially due to his celeb roasting: videos on Instagram. His videos have also earned co-signs from notable celebrities such as Chris Tucker, Lebron James, Michael Blackson, Kevin Hart, and many more. He has also appeared in two hit films; I Got the Hook Up 2 with Master P and She Ball with Nick Cannon.
DC Young Fly was also an opening act for the tour called “Cuffing Season Tour” of the R&B singer Eric Bellinger and had a notable feud with Kevin Hart in 2015. He became an internet judge of the game show “Floored” in 2020. The game was being streamed through the streaming service, Quibi.
