Jason Farris Brown (August 27, 1969) is an American rapper, entrepreneur, songwriter, and singer who is professionally known as Colt Ford. At the beginning of his career, Colt Ford pursued the opportunity to be a professional golfer and played on the Nationwide Tour. A few years later, his interest in music began to rise, and he started taking intense influences from hip hop and country music. He adopted the stage name Colt Ford and released his debut album entitled “Ride Through the Country” on December 2, 2008, released on Average Joes Entertainment.
Ford’s debut album also featured guest appearances by Jeremy Popoff, Adrian Young, Jermaine Dupri, Bone Crusher, and Jamey Johnson. The album entered the Billboard albums chart in 2009. The song “Dirt Road Anthem” was co-written and recorded for the first time by Ford himself, and he released the song on his debut album. The same song was released by the other co-writers, Brantley Gilbert and Jason Aldean.
In April 2010, Ford released his second studio album entitled “Chicken & Biscuits.” On May 3, 2011, he again released an album entitled “Every Chance I Get,” and its lead-off single was “Country Thang.” The single debuted at number 55 for the country chart week. Ford’s other notable studio albums include the Declaration of Independence (2012), Love Hope Faith (2017), and We the People, Volume 1 (2019).
