Color Me Badd is a contemporary R&B band founded in 1985 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The group is also known as C.M.B. Its music is classified as new jack swing and R&B. The band was initially founded by Bryan Abrams along with second tenor Sam Watters, second tenor Mark Calderon, and baritone Kevin Thornton. The only original member of C.M.B currently playing is Mark Calderon. Sam Watters, Kevin "K.T." Thornton, and Bryan Abrams are the band's past members. Color Me Badd faced a split in 1998 before reuniting in 2010, with a new lineup.
The band released its self-titled debut album on July 23, 1991. The album sold 6 million copies worldwide and earned triple-platinum certification. Some of the hit singles included in this album include "I Wanna Sex You Up," followed by another hit single entitled "I Adore Mi Amor."
Some other notable studio albums by C.M.B are Time and Chance (1993), Now & Forever (1996), and Awakening (1998). The Best of Color Me Badd is a hit compilation album by the band released on August 22, 2000, via Giant Records. The group has worked with a few record labels throughout its career, including Epic Records and Giant records.
Color Me Badd had two number 1 hit singles, a triple-platinum album, and nine Top 40 hits. The band received a nomination for two Grammy Awards. It won one American Music Award along with two Soul Train Music Awards and many more nominations. C.M.B also made a cameo appearance as themselves on one episode of Beverly Hills, 90210, in 1992.
