Chris Standring Information
Chris Standring (December 1, 1960) is a British guitarist from Buckinghamshire who plays soul-jazz and smooth jazz. He is famous for his heavy use of 1970s-style musical nuances. Before launching himself as a solo artist, he was part of the band SolarSystem, a group that combined elements of jazz and hip-hop. Later on, in 1998, he released the studio album Velvet as a solo artist.
His second album was titled Hip Sway; this album was co-produced with Rodney Lee and released in 2000. Groovalicious was the third album by him that was released in 2003, followed by Soul Express in 2006 and Love & Paragraphs in 2008. Love & Paragraphs' title track became a hit radio single. Another album by Chris Standring was entitled Blue Bolero and released in 2010, which released the hit single "Bossa Blue," reaching number 1 on the contemporary radio across the US. Another hit track named "Bossa Blue" was the 2010 Billboard contemporary jazz track of the year.
Some of the other notable studio albums by Chris Standring are Send Me Some Snow 2011, Electric Wonderland 2012, Don't Talk, Dance 2014, Ten 2016, Sunlight 2018, and Real Life 2020. He also released one live album entitled Live in London in 2017. Two of his compilation albums are Collector's Series 2014 and Best of Chris Standring – Remixed 2019.
