Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra Information
Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is a professional symphony orchestra founded in 1954. The orchestra is known to offer approximately 12 concerts each season, along with a wide variety of outreach and educational programs. Maestro William Intriligator leads CSO, which serves the city of Cheyenne and southeast Wyoming. The company's mission statement is to organize, fund, and responsibly manage a quality and professional symphony orchestra to provide musical growth, enjoyment, and cultural outreach.
The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra acts as a catalyst for other cultural and educational events. It is famous for contributing to the quality of life for Cheyenne residents and other surrounding areas. CSO is successfully impacting more than 10,000 adults and students through its performances every year. An additional 6,000 students are acknowledged through educational outreach programs.
Professional musicians working for CSO reflect a high level of talent, musical capability, and dedication. They are selected via a rigorous audition process. The members include faculty members from the University of Wyoming, along with some of the universities and colleges. Most of them hold advanced music degrees and perform in multiple orchestras along with CSO.
Every season, the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra offers five Masterpiece concerts, a Family Matinee in the Cheyenne Civic Center, and a Holiday concert. It also presents a series of chamber music concerts in Cheyenne homes and smaller venues throughout the year. The orchestra also offers an intensive educational outreach program for Laramie County School Districts 1 and 2.
