Charlie Parr is an American country blues musician. He was born in Austin, Minnesota, and spent a major part of his childhood in Hollandale. He began his music career in Duluth. Parr’s early influences include Mississippi John Hurt, Dave Van Ronk, Reverend Gary Davis, Bukka White, and Charlie Patton. Instruments that he plays include a twelve-string guitar, a fretless open-back banjo, and National resonator guitar. One of Parr’s songs entitled “1922” has been featured in Vodafone's New Zealand and Australian television advertisement. He, later on, re-released his album, 1922, in Australia on the Level 2 record label in Melbourne.
Charlie Parr toured Australia with Paul Kelly in 2009. Several of his songs were featured in the Australian drama film named Red Hill (2010). His music has also got notable space in the background of a commercial for Gerber Gear entitled “Hello Trouble.” In 2011, Parr played at the Pickathon Festival in Oregon, and in 2012, he was invited to Willamina’s Wildwood MusicFest & Campout. He has also been a featured performer at the Mid-West Music Fest.
Notable albums released by Parr throughout his career include Criminals & Sinners (2002). The album was released on Shaky Ray Records and Misplaced Music.
