Cam ron Information
Cameron Ezike Giles, also known as Cam'ron (February 4, 1976), is an American rapper born in New York City. Giles began his career in the mid-1990s under the stage name Killa Cam, signing with Lance "Un" Rivera's Entertainment, an imprint of Epic, and releasing the albums Confessions of Fire (1998) and S.D.E. (Sports Drugs & Entertainment) (2000), the former of which was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Come Home with Me, Giles' third studio album, was released the year after he signed with Roc-A-Fella Records and left Epic. The album was certified platinum by RIAA and featured Cam'ron's highest-charting singles, which peaked at 4 and 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Purple Haze, his fourth studio album, was rated gold by the RIAA and widely praised upon its 2004 release. It was his last release for Roc-A-Fella.
Cam'ron inked a distribution deal with Asylum Records when he and Jay-Z had a falling out in 2005 and decided to split his label, Diplomat Records, from Roc-A-Fella. Cam'ron made his directorial and screenwriting debuts and acted in the film based on his fifth studio album, Killa Season, which was released in 2006.
