Blue Note Jazz Festival Information
The Blue Note Jazz Festival is an annual event that features jazz performances at locations all across New York City every June. The Blue Note Jazz Club puts on the festival, showcasing performances by legendary jazz musicians who have significantly contributed to the club or jazz in general. On June 1, 2011, to celebrate the Blue Note Jazz Club's 30th anniversary, the first-ever festival was held in its honor. Over eighty performances occurred in fifteen sites throughout the festival's month-long run.
The Blue Note Jazz Festival features performances at some of New York's most prestigious concert halls. The event is held largely at the Blue Note Jazz Club, Sony Hall, the old Highline Ballroom, and B.B. King's Blues Club, all owned and controlled by the Blue Note Entertainment Group. Le Poisson Rouge, Mercury Lounge, Katonah Museum of Art, Beacon Theatre, Town Hall, Terminal 5, and Central Park SummerStage are just a few of the other prestigious venues that have hosted concerts.
