Azealia Amanda Banks (May 31, 1991) is an American rapper, vocalist, and songwriter. Growing up in New York City's Harlem, she started posting songs on Myspace in 2008 before getting signed to XL Recordings at eighteen. She then signed up with Polydor Records and Interscope until they split in 2013. She first posted the promotional track "Mamma Mia" on her SoundCloud account in April 2020; it was then published on all platforms on December 23, 2020.
On January 7, 2021, Banks debuted the song "Six Flags," including Slim Dollar. Banks released the single "Fuck Him All Night" on July 7, 2021. Months later, a perfume bearing the same name debuted. She also declared that she now reported to fresh management. She revealed on Instagram Stories in January 2023 that she had quit Parlophone and would thus be independently releasing "New Bottega."
Following many delays, "New Bottega" debuted on March 10, 2023, under the Australian dance music label Sweat It Out as a joint project between Australian house producer Torren Foot and Banks. But the next May, Banks complained about Torren Foot's reworking of the song and claimed she had not approved the release. She also questioned Sweat It Out for presenting "New Bottega" as a dance recording rather than a hip-hop tune.
