Asake Information
Ahmed Ololade (January 13, 1995), known professionally as Asake, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. A member of YBNL Nation, he is also distributed by Empire Distribution. "Asake" is his mother's name, and he uses it as his stage name. Mr. Money with the Vibe, his first album, was released in September 2022 and became the album with the most opening day on Apple Music by an African artist.
As of its release, the album held the record for the highest-charting Nigerian debut album on the Billboard 200 chart, entering at position number 66. Work of Art, his second album, was released in June 2023 and debuted at number 66 on the Billboard 200. Asake received his first international award nomination at the 2022 MOBOs for Best African Music Act, and he won Break Out Artist of the Year at the 2022 All-African Music Awards.
In the same year he was ranked fifth on Rolling Stone's Future 25 list, 2023, he was also nominated for Best New International Act at the BET Awards. Asake took home a brand new automobile on September 4, 2023, after winning the coveted Next Rated category at the 2023 Headies award.
