Anna Nalick Information
Anna Christine Nalick (March 30, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter from Temple City, California who plays pop-rock and adult alternative. Nalick attended Holy Angels Grammar School in Arcadia, and at the age of 4, she moved to Glendora with her parents. Two of Nalick's grandparents had performed on Broadway. As a child, Nalick was exposed to various artists, including Elvis Presley and Led Zeppelin. One of her third-grade teachers remarked that Nalick would end up "on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" one day.
During her college admission, Nalick was introduced to Christopher Thorn and Brad Smith, the founding members of Blind Melon. Soon she put her college plans on hold and signed on with Columbia Records. Nalick released her debut album entitled Wreck of the Day, two years later. "Breathe (2 AM)" was the first single from her debut album, which peaked at number 45 U.S. and went 3× Platinum on the Billboard Hot 100. The album has sold over 615,000 copies and earned a gold certification from the RIAA.
"In the Rough" was another single by Nalick that came out in November 2005. Some of her other notable singles are "Wreck of the Day," "Shine," "Til the End of the Year (Bye Buy By)," "Aura," and "At Now." She also released an EP in 2003 entitled Shine. A few of her other studio albums are Broken Doll & Odds & Ends, and The Blackest Crow. Nalick has won a New Music Awards and ASCAP Pop Music Awards and two nominations for Teen Choice Awards and Groovevolt Music and Fashion Awards.
