Anberlin Information
Anberlin is an American alternative rock band. The current lineup of the group consists of Christian McAlhaney (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), Nathan Young (drums and percussion), Deon Rexroat (bass guitar), Joseph Milligan (lead guitar and backing vocals), and Stephen Christian (lead vocals and keyboards). Anberlin was formed in 2002 in Winter Haven, Florida. The band was formed in 1998 under the name, SaGoh 24/7.
Anberlin signed its first record deal with the semi-independent record label, Tooth & Nail Records. The group released its debut album on the band entitled, Blueprints for the Black Market on May 6, 2003. The band released its second studio album entitled, Never Fake Friendship Personal, on February 1, 2005. In 2007, Anberlin signed with its first major label, Universal Republic. The same year, they released their third studio album entitled Cities, on February 20.
On September 30, 2008, Anberlin came up with another album, New Surrender. The album peaked at number 13 on the Billboard 200. The album’s first single, “Feel Good Drag,” was claimed number 1 on the Alternative Songs chart. The band’s other studio albums include Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place (September 7, 2010), Vital (October 16, 2012), and Lowborn (July 22, 2014).
