Allegaeon Information
Allegaeon is an American extreme metal band. The group's current lineup consists of Jeff Saltzman, Brandon Michael, Michael Stancel, Ezra Haynes, and Greg Burgess. In 2007, Allegaeon came into existence. They started performing at local taverns and private homes in the Fort Collins area. They put out a self-titled EP independently in August of 2008. They inked a deal with Metal Blade Records shortly after. Allegaeon's first album, Fragments of Form and Function, was recorded in January 2010. On July 20, 2010, Metal Blade released the album.
Allegaeon's second studio album, Formshifter, was recorded in December 2011 at San Diego's Lambesis Studios. Metal Blade released Formshifter on May 8, 2012. After working on a project with Tim Lambesis in 2013, original guitarist Ryan Glisan eventually left the band. Michael Stancel took over in his place.
On June 24, 2014, Metal Blade released their third studio album, Elements of the Infinite. Gregory Heaney of AllMusic lauded the "dazzling guitar work" and the "epic orchestral flourishes" on the album, calling it a "creative breakthrough." In 2015, original vocalist Ezra Haynes left Allegaeon without giving a reason. However, it had nothing to do with disagreements inside the band. Riley McShane was quickly chosen to replace the previous singer, and the response from the audience has been very positive.
