Alicia Keys Information
Alicia Augello Cook (January 25, 1981), better known as Alicia Keys, is a singer-songwriter from the U.S. Keys began writing songs at 12 and was signed by Columbia Records at 15. Keys had classical piano training. Her first studio album, Songs in A Minor, was released through J Records after she signed with Arista Records following disagreements with the company.
The songs "Show Me Love" (with Miguel), "Underdog," "Lala," and "Best of Me" were released from her seventh and eighth studio albums, Alicia and Keys, respectively. She debuted as an independent artist in 2022 with the release of Santa Baby, her ninth studio album. Her debut Off-Broadway musical, Hell's Kitchen, premiered in 2023, and she was involved in all aspects of its creation.
One of the best-selling musicians of all time, Keys has sold more than 90 million records worldwide. She ranked 10th on Billboard's list of the top 50 R&B/hip-hop artists in the quarter of a century and was named R&B/hip-hop artist of the 2000s.
A long list of honors includes recognition from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the National Music Publishers Association, in addition to twelve ASCAP awards, fifteen Grammys, seventeen NAACP Image Awards, and one from each of the other organizations.
In 2023, she embarked on the Keys to the Summer Tour across North America from June to August. She created, scored, and produced Hell's Kitchen alongside Kristoffer Diaz, her debut Off-Broadway musical, at The Public Theater's Newman Theater in New York City on November 19, 2023.
