Abstract Information
Abstract is an American band which was founded in 1992. The band was formed by Tommy Thompson and NASA Engineers, Walter Robinson. The group deals mostly in hip-hop, jazz, blues, rock, and pop genres. The current lineup of the band consists of very talented musicians who came from Huntsville, Alabama. The group members have performed together for several years on countless occasions. The current members are Tyrone Douglas bassist, Mr. Larue Larry drummer/vocalist, Mr. Tommy Thompson guitarist/vocalist, and Mr. Walter Robinson saxophonist. All these band members have performed with many notable Huntsville bands and musicians such as Tommy Thompson was an original member of the well-known Huntsville band, Riapsedon, whereas, Mr. Walter Robinson has performed with Birmingham-based Royal Flush band.
Abstract band owns many significant accomplishments throughout its career. Some of these include performance as the opening act for Mrs. Patti LaBelle, world-renowned bassist Mr. Otiel Burbidge, and CAs Jazz recording artist, Mr. Jonathan Butler. A few of the other notable events where Abstract has performed include Big Springs Jam 94, 95, 97, 98, 02, 03 (Huntsville, Al), Jazz-N-June 94 thru 05, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) activities, Concerts In the Park 97 thru 05, Panoply 98 thru 00, along with many private parties, weddings, and banquets.
Abstract was opted to provide the musical entertainment for the premiere of one of HBO’s (Home Box Office) Tom Hanks movies. The movie was entitled "From the Earth to the Moon."
