The Fox Theater opened for the local public on March 6, 1992. A performance from The Meters accompanied the opening of the venue. The venue was started by the famous James and Charles Hambleton, Jon O'Leary, Don Strasburg, Dave MacKenzie, and Dicke Sidman.
