Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is a popular musical written by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay. Music for the show was produced by Joel Hirschhorn, Al Kasha, and Johnny Mercer. The musical is based on the Stanley Donen film of the same name that was published in 1954. The film itself was an adaptation of the short story “The Sobbin’ Women.”

On July 2, 1985, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers premiered in the West End at the Old Vic running for approximately 41 performances. This run starred Steve Devereaux and Roni Page. During the 2002 tour of the United Kingdom, Dave Willetts played his part as a star. In 1983, the musical was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Original Score.
