Rhea Butcher Information
River Butcher (August 12, 1982) is an American podcast host, producer, writer, actor, and stand-up comedian. She was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Butcher started her high school career at Our Lady of the Elms and finished it at Archbishop Hoban. Butcher helped design the skatepark that first opened in Akron in 2001 while studying at the University of Akron. He worked at the Summer Squall skateboard shop and the Joe's Skate Park indoor skating facility.
Butcher got their start in the comedy industry as an improviser at Chicago's The Second City and has since done stand-up at venues like Zanies, the Jukebox, Flappers, Chicago Underground Comedy, The Hideout, The Lincoln Lodge, UCB, Cole's, and Meltdown. In June 2016, they first appeared on Conan's late-night show. They co-starred with Cameron Esposito in a BuzzFeed Motion Pictures series called "Ask a Lesbian," which premiered in the fall of 2014.
She Said, a web series on Amy Poehler's Smart Girls Network, was co-hosted by Butcher and Esposito. Butcher voiced Asher, a nonbinary character in three episodes of the upcoming 2020 season of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts.
