BOOP the Musical is a live stage performance that takes place at the CIBC Theatre as the new musical-comedy spectacular that is headed to Broadway, BOOP! by Betty Boop, brings to life that sassy-sweet champion of self-determination, that spit-curled icon of joy, and that vocalist of strength.
The Queen of the Animated Screen is staged by the acclaimed director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, La Cage aux Folles, Hairspray), with music by the late David Foster ("I Have Nothing," "After the Love Is Gone," "The Prayer"), lyrics by the late Susan Birkenhead (Working, Jelly's Last Jam), and a book by the late Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone, The Prom), who has won multiple Tony nominations and accolades for his work.
Through the use of her signature appearance, voice, and fashion sense, Betty Boop has been able to win over the affections of admirers all around the world for nearly a century. In BOOP!, Betty's wish for a normal day away from the super-celebrities in her monochrome world comes true, taking her on a colorful, musical, and romantic journey across New York City—a journey that reminds her and everyone else, "You are capable of amazing things."
