The Eagle Rodeo has been a feature of Eagle, Idaho, since 2001. Eagle Fun Days, celebrated annually as a summer celebration, are organized by the Eagle Chamber of Commerce, which initially initiated this event. In 2011, Eagle Rodeo established itself as a separate business. The Eagle Rodeo was a rodeo recognized by the Idaho Cowboys Association (ICA), and there, it flourished and expanded while adhering to the restrictions that the ICA established. 

The Eagle Rodeo was presented with the opportunity to join the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) ranks in 2016. The Professional Rodeo Association (PRCA) is the American rodeo organization that offers the best salary in the world. Since then, the Eagle Rodeo has been a PRCA-sanctioned event, allowing riders to proceed to the Circuit Finals and NFR.

The Eagle Rodeo opted to relocate to a new location in 2018 since it had outgrown its previous venue in the downtown area of Eagle. Hanover Entertainment's documentary focuses on Eagle Rodeo and the challenges involved in managing and moving a professional rodeo.
