Sean Bowie is a producer of experimental music and producer. He is best known for his recording alias, Yves Tumor. He was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. He began making music at 16 as an outlet away from “dull, conservative surroundings.” He learned to play keyboards, guitar, bass, and drums himself. Tumor moved to San Diego at the age of 20, and after completing college, he moved to Los Angeles.
Tumor signed a record deal with PAN Records in September 2016. He released their label debut entitled Serpent Music. The album was recorded between Berlin, Los Angeles, Miami, and Leipzig. He also released a compilation album in September 2017 entitled, Experiencing the Deposit of Faith for free. His earlier work was compared to that of James Ferraro and Dean Blunt.
On September 5, 2018, Tumor released his Warp debut entitled, Safe in the Hands of Love. There was no prior announcement made for the release. In April 2020, his fourth studio album, Heaven to a Tortured Mine, came out. Tumor’s notable singles include “Noid,” “Licking an Orchid,” “Lifetime,” “Applaud,” “Gospel for a New Century,” “Kerosene,” “Romanticist” / “Dream Palette,” and “Jackie.”
