Whores Information
Whores is an American noise rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Christian Lembach, Casey Maxwell, and Douglas Jennings Barrett. The band's self-titled debut EP was published in 2011 on Brutal Panda Records. In 2013, they released an EP, "Clean," featured on music blogs like Pitchfork, Exclaim!, and Sputnikmusic. Covers of The Cure songs appeared on a 2014 split single with the band Rabbits. Their latest album, "Gold," was published on eOne Music on October 28, 2016.
The band has toured the United States extensively, playing shows with bands including Red Fang, Melvins, Retox, Torche, The Sword, Black Tusk, Deafheaven, Floor, Kylesa, Obliterations, Iron Reagan, Fight Amp, No Way, Creepoid, and CAPRA (a band from Louisiana). The band's sound fits primarily into the category of noise rock. Andy O'Connor, writing for Pitchfork Media, cited the influence of bands like Melvins, Helmet, Karp, Pissed Jeans, and Amphetamine Reptile Records. The band's sound also features elements of sludge.
In addition, the band worked closely with other noise rock pioneers. Both EPs were produced by Ryan Boesch, who has also worked with the Melvins, Fu Manchu, Helmet, and the Foo Fighters. Harvey Milk drummer Kyle Spence mastered the band's debut EP.
