While She Sleeps is a British metalcore band with a lineup of the group consists of Lawrence "Loz" Taylor (lead vocals), Mat Welsh (piano, vocals, and rhythm guitar), Adam "Sav" Savage (percussion and drums), Aaran McKenzie (backing vocals and bass), and Sean Long (backing vocals and lead guitar). While She Sleeps was created in Renishaw, England, in 2006 by vocalist Jordan Widdowson, drummer Adam Savage, bassist Aaran McKenzie, and guitarists Mat Welsh and Sean Long.
The members of While She Sleeps have been friends "since school" and have played in other bands together before joining While She Sleeps. The group dropped their debut extended play, And This Is Just the Start, in 2006. However, a record company did not issue this EP. In 2009, after playing only a few performances, most members decided to devote themselves "full time" to the band. A limited edition split EP with Andwhitestars was published in March 2009 on James Records.
Widdowson, the band's vocalist, left shortly after that owing to professional obligations. Now featuring vocalist Lawrence Taylor, the band has entered their home studio to begin recording their third EP. The band had an extensive tour of the UK and Europe from late 2009 through 2010. The North Stands for Nothing, the band's debut album, was released via Small Town Records on July 26, 2010, in response to the increasing demand for their music.
