Drummer and full-time musician Wes Watkins lives in Odenton, Maryland, yet he has traveled the world with artists who have sold millions of albums. Most of Watkins' time is now spent playing in local bands and recording with experts in the field. Watkins has a tough business but makes time to be a dad to his 14-year-old son Demauri and 2-year-old daughter Drew.
Watkins was raised in a normal, two-parent family. His parent's marriage is still going strong. Watkins' father provided a great role model for fatherhood. Watkins and Demauri's mother, Demetria Seegars, model cooperative parenting, contributing to Demauri's growth and development even if Watkins' parental path did not include marriage.
Demauri's favorite things to do with his dad include trips to amusement parks like Six Flags and game arcades like Dave and Buster's. Both father and son wrote books titled "Fathers Need Their Kids & Kids Need Their Fathers." The young author contributed to the 2021 book in several ways, including developing ideas and writing sections. The author's time with their family inspired some of the book's chapters.
