Walter Wolfman Washington Information
Walter "Wolfman" Washington (December 21, 1943) is an American singer and guitarist. He was born in New Orleans. Washington started his All Fools Band around the middle of the '60s and played local New Orleans venues. He became a member of Johnny Adams' band in the '70s. He was a staple in Adams's live and recorded performances for twenty years. His solo career lasted throughout this time, and in the late '70s, he even founded his band, the Roadmasters, with whom he toured Europe.
In 1981, Washington's first solo album, Rainin' In My Life, was published on the independent label Hep' Me. In 1985, he signed with Rounder Records and eventually put out three albums with them. Sada was his first album after leaving Rounder, published on Point Blank Records. Clips of Washington performing may be found in the 2005 documentary Make It Funky!, which traces the development of rhythm and blues, rock and roll, funk, and jazz from their roots in New Orleans.
He sings "Barefootin'" with the house band in the movie. It wasn't until 2008 that he put out his first album, Doin' the Funky Thing, in a long time. Krown, Washington's Batiste, also recorded a live album titled Live at the Maple Leaf that year.
