Walter Trout Information
Walter Trout is a blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Ocean City, New Jersey. He started his music career on the Jersey scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Later on, Trout decided to relocate to Los Angeles, where he worked as a sideman for Percy Mayfield, John Lee Hooker, Big Mama Thornton, Joe Tex, and numerous others.
Walter Trout was the lead guitarist in Canned Heat from 1981 - 1984 and extensively toured with the band across Europe, the US, and Australia. Trout also worked as the lead guitarist for John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, from 1984 - 1989. He also worked with Bluesbreakers but soon left and founded the 'Walter Trout Band' in 1985. Trout played large festivals like Skanderborg Festival and Midtfyns Festival.
Life in the Jungle was the first solo album by Trout that came out in 1980. 1990 Prisoner of a Dream followed it and 1992 Transition, 1992 No More Fish Jokes (live album), 1994 Tellin' Stories, 1996 Jimi Hendrix Music Festival (Janblues), and a few more. Some of his other notable solo albums are 2009 Unspoiled By Progress: 20 Years of Hardcore Blues, 2012 Blues For The Modern Daze, 2015 Battle Scars, and 2017 We're All In This Together. Walter Trout has won two Blues Music Awards in 2016 and 2018, SENA European Guitar Awards in 2015, three British Blues Awards, and three Blues Blast Music Awards.
