Veil of Maya Information
Veil of Maya is a metalcore band. The group's current lineup consists of Lukas Magyar, Danny Hauser, Sam Applebaum, and Marc Okubo. Marc (lead guitar), Sam (drums), and Kris (bass) left the melodic death metal band Insurrection to create Veil of Maya in 2004 in Chicago, Illinois. Soon after, they were joined by guitarist Timothy Marshall and singer Adam. Scott Okarma, the band's guitarist, came for a short time after they recorded a self-released demo in 2005, and he participated in some live performances and early tours.
All Things Set Aside, the band's debut full-length recording, was recorded, produced, and released in 2006 with this five-member lineup. Clemans and Ruppell left the band in early 2006, prompting Veil of Maya to recruit Brandon Butler, then 20, vocalist of the Indiana metal band Iscariot. Veil of Maya is now a four-piece after the band members collectively agreed against looking for a new rhythm guitarist.
The music video for "Overthrow" was posted to YouTube on September 13, 2017, and the album False Idol was scheduled for release on October 20, 2017. On October 3, 2017, the official music video for "Doublespeak," the band's second song, was uploaded to YouTube. They dropped "Members Only," a song from an upcoming album, on September 12, 2019.
