Unwed Sailor Information
Unwed Sailor is an American, largely instrumental band created in 1998 by Johnathon Ford. David Swatzell, Matthew Putman, and Johnathon Ford make up the band's current lineup. The Firecracker EP was recorded in Seattle after Ford departed Pedro the Lion after performing on their debut album and relocating to Chicago, Illinois.
Ford enlisted the help of friends Pedro the Lion (Pedro the Lion), K.C. Wescott (The Vogue), and Melissa Palladino (Danielson Famile) to record the first Unwed Sailor EP. Firecracker was recorded by Blake Wescott at Casa Recording Co. in September 1998 and released on the Made In Mexico record label, later on, Burnt Toast Vinyl.
Their debut full-length studio album, The Faithful Anchor, was recorded with Nic Tse, Dan Burton, Joe Brumley, and Matthew Johnson. The album was recorded and mixed in Bloomington, Indiana, in the United States, between October and December 2000, and released in the United States. on September 10, 2001, on the Lovesick Recordings label.
In March 2002, Unwed Sailor collaborated with Early Day Miners and photographer Chris Bennett on a project. The song, titled Stateless, is a score by the two bands to accompany Bennett's Super 8 video, shot on excursions across the United States and Europe.
Unmarried Sailor In August 2003, Burnt Toast Vinyl published The Marionette and the Music Box concept CD as a companion piece to the Jamie Hunt illustrated children's book.
