The first iteration of Tomorrow Never Knows took place in 2005 as a small event celebrating new talent during the middle of winter. In its fifteen years of existence, it has become a local staple that spans five days and venues, beginning at Lincoln Hall and Schubas and eventually expanding to Metro, the Hideout, and Sleeping Village.
For over a decade, Tomorrow Never Knows has demonstrated that music fans will survive the frigid Chicago winter for a fantastic show. The event was founded in 2005 by the staff at Lincoln Hall and Schubas. During its five-day run in January, TNK brings promising newcomers in independent music and comedy from throughout the country with some of the most respected names in the business. The Tomorrow Never Knows citywide concert series combines six distinct Chicago venues—Lincoln Hall, Schubas, Metro, Hideout, Sleeping Village, and Golden Dagger—to create a one-of-a-kind Chicago event.
TNK has been one of the best music festivals of the year, with a lineup that had included several up-and-coming acts before they became household names, such as Bon Iver, Father John Misty, among others.
