Thunderpussy Information
Thunderpussy is an American rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Lindsey Elias, Leah Julius, Molly Sides, and Whitney Petty. At the Sasquatch! Music Festival, the band, met and befriended Pearl Jam's lead guitarist Mike McCready. Thunderpussy's first single, "Velvet Noose," was published on McCready's HockeyTalkter Records, and McCready was an instant admirer. McCready adds a guitar solo to the music. Molly's Game, a 2017 criminal drama, includes the song.
The sound of 1970s rock inspires the band. On February 23, 2018, their debut EP, Greatest Tits, was released digitally. Thunderpussy released its self-titled debut studio album on May 25, 2018. Sylvia Massy produced the album. Thunderpussy's tour in support of the album began on May 11, 2018.
On March 13, 2018, the band performed at SXSW. On October 25, 2019, the band released their second EP, Milk It. It was their debut album with drummer Lindsey Elias. Led Zeppelin, Heart, Laura Jane Grace, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Kathleen Hanna have all been mentioned as musical inspirations by the band. Instead of focusing on their music, the band has voiced contempt for journalists who may label them "as an all-female, feminist rock group."
