Thrice Information

Thrice is an American, Irvine-based rock band from California. The band was formed in 1998 by the vocalist and guitarist Dustin Kensrue along with Teppei Teranishi (guitarist). The music genre of the band is more of an alternative rock, post-hardcore, experimental rock, melodic hardcore, emo, and art-rock.

The current group members are Eddie Breckenridge (bass guitar, backing vocals, synthesizer, occasional guitar), Riley Breckenridge (drums, programming, percussion), Dustin Kensrue (lead vocals, guitar, piano, synthesizers), and Teppei Teranishi (lead guitar, synthesizer, glockenspiel).

In the initial years of their career, Thrice was famous for being a fast and hard music player of heavy distorted guitars. The band name was a temporary one at first, but due to increased recognition from the same name, the members chose to move with Thrice.

Thrice self-released an EP in 1999 entitled “First Impressions.” “Identity Crisis” was the first album by the band in 2000, which was followed by The Illusion of Safety 2002, The Artist in the Ambulance 2003, Vheissu 2005, The Alchemy Index Vols. I & II 2007, The Alchemy Index Vols. III & IV 2008, Beggars 2009, and the list go on till 2018’s Palms.

Thrice toured heavily for each of their albums but got disbanded in 2011 with an announcement about their final tour. Later, in 2015, Kensrue and Teranishi planned to reform the band and released; To Be Everywhere Is to Be Nowhere as its post-reunion album. All over, each record sold by the group has had a portion of its profit reserved for charity.
