The Y Axes Information
The Y Axes are a band from San Francisco that plays an original kind of music that is a unique combination of dreamy, synth-glossed pop and rhythmically powerful rock. Alexi Rose Belchere on vocals and Devin Nelson on guitar founded the band as a recording project. Still, after Alexi Rose Belchere and Devin Nelson debuted a set of songs at their space and prom-themed shared birthday celebration in July 2011, they decided to pursue the band as a full-time endeavor.
The Y Axes, whose roster is completed by bassist Jack Sundquist and drummer Paul Conroy, work together to create upbeat and heavy-hitting pop music that features ethereal vocal melodies that have the potential to stay in your head for weeks as well as complicated instrumentations—the Y Axes plan to release their newest full-length album, Umbra, on November 26. The band collaborated with Aaron Hellam (of Finish Ticket, Rin Tin Tiger, and Black Map, among other bands) to record the album at Hellam Sound.
