The Veer Union Information
The Veer Union is a Canadian rock band. The group's current lineup consists of Ricardo Viana, Ryan Ramsdell, and Crispin Earl. Under the original moniker of "Veer," the band was founded in 2004 by Crispin Earl and Eric Schraeder. In 2006, the band self-released their only record, Time to Break the Spell. The album's success, along with the band's touring with established acts like Hinder, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, and Black Stone Cherry, led to a record contract with major label Universal Motown.
After committing to the record company, the group rebranded itself as The Veer Union. The band clarified that it wasn't due to legal issues but rather a desire to leave behind difficult circumstances and focus on the bright side. Preceding the release of their full-length debut, they released an EP under their name, which featured demos, demo versions, and unreleased versions of tracks from the full-length.
On April 21, 2009, the band's debut album, Against the Grain, was published. The album as a whole, Against the Grain, debuted at #32 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart, with the first single, "Seasons," peaking at #10 on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, #16 on Rock Songs, and #30 on Alternative Songs. The band played the United States with Sick Puppies and Hurt from July to September and continued with Cavo and Framing Hanley.
