The Sheila Divine Information
The Sheila Divine is an American rock band. The group’s current lineup consists of Aaron Perrino, Brian Charles, Jim Gilbert, and Ryan Dolan. Critics have compared the band’s sound to that of their heroes, primarily early 1980s post-punk. The band is known for its loud/soft musical dynamic and Aaron Perrino’s soaring vocals, ranging from screaming in key to howling in falsetto. The band has a sizable following in what is known as “the three Bs”: Boston, Buffalo, and Belgium.
The Sheila Divine formed in 1997 and played their debut show on July 4, 1997, at The Middle East in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They were signed to CherryDisc Records, a local independent label, and issued their self-titled five-track EP in 1998. They built a strong local fanbase and won the WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble in 1999. Sheila Divine’s first full-length album, New Parade, was released in 1999 after Roadrunner Records purchased CherryDisc Records.
On January 14, 2011, Orbit and the Sheila Divine performed at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA. They also performed alongside Hurricane Bells and The Field Effect at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, MA, on February 4, 2012.
Other studio albums include Where Have My Countrymen Gone (2001), The Things That Once Were (2012), The Morbs (2015), and Beginning of The End is Where We’ll Start Again (2019). Their hit singles are “Like A Criminal,” “Hum,” “Ostrich,” and “Age Is Just a Number.”
