The Paladins Information
The Paladins is an American roots rock-rockabilly band that originated from San Diego, California. The current lineup of the band includes Dave Gonzalez (guitar and vocals), Brian Fahey (drums), and Thomas Yearsley (bass and vocals). Founded in the early 1980s, Dave Gonzalez and his high school friend Thomas Yearsley started the group. The Paladins have recorded several studio albums to build their reputation as a hard-working live band.
Initially, The Paladins started their career and built their recognition as a rockabilly band during the rockabilly craze in the early 1980s. The group used to play a combination of rockabilly and vintage country. Whit Broadly was the band’s lead singer and rhythm guitarist. The band performed its first recording to contribute to a 1982 local compilation album entitled “Who’s Listening?”
The Paladins released its second album entitled “Years Since Yesterday” in 1989. Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds produced the album on Alligator Records. The album was also produced by Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin and Mark Linnet. By the end of the year, this album had sold over 20,000 copies. In 1989, the group toured with the Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Blasters, Los Lobos, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
The Paladins has released several notable studio albums so far, including Let’s Buzz (1990), Ticket Home (1994), Million Mile Club (1996), Slippin In (1999), Palvoince No. 7 (2001), El Matador (2003), Power Shake: Live in Holland (2007), Live 1985 (2008), Wicked EP (2013), and More of the Best of (2014).
