The Notebook - The Musical Information
Ingrid Michaelson composed the music and lyrics for the musical The Notebook, while Bekah Brunstetter wrote the book. Nicholas Sparks wrote the novel that served as its inspiration in 1996. The Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre hosted the highly-anticipated Broadway premiere of the musical on March 14, 2024. On June 23, 2019, the Powerhouse Theater at Vassar College hosted a workshop for the New York Stage and Film's The Notebook. Michael Greif was the director.
The show's main cast members were announced on June 12, 2019. Throughout their lives, Allie and Noah played their respective roles in the play. Along with Antonio Cipriano (Young Noah), Clifton Duncan (Middle Noah), and James Naughton (Older Noah), the list featured Vanessa Hudgens (Middle Allie), Candy Buckley (Older Allie), and Hailey Kilgore (Young Allie).
The show's spring 2024 Broadway opening at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre was announced in August 2023. With an opening night set for March 14, 2024, previews for the performance commenced on February 6, 2024. In November 2023, the whole casting was announced. Kevin McCollum and Kurt Deutsch are producing the project on the one hand and the theater division of Warner Bros. on the other. This division is responsible for producing the novel's 2004 film version through its subsidiary, New Line Cinema.
